Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has commended the stakeholders especially the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, for the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Governor Amosun gave the commendation in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta while reacting to his victory at the just concluded polls.

The governor who emerged the Senate-Elect said the victory was an attestation to the love and support the people of the state had for his government.

Governor Amosun who also applauded the efforts of security agencies towards the success of the elections promised equitable representation at the ninth senate.

Governor Amosun used the occasion to implore the stakeholders to sustain their peaceful conduct during the next month’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

In the meantime, Ogun state government has suspended the state’s weekly executive meeting in honour of a cabinet member, Prince Adeniyi Adesanya who died last week in a fatal accident.

Governor Amosun who commiserated with family of the deceased prayed God to grant the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Taiwo Adeoluwa and driver, Mr. Kehinde Akinade who were also involved in the accident, quick recovery.

Prayers were said in both Christian and Islamic ways for the repose of the soul of the departed.
