Nigerians in Diaspora last year remitted over one trillion Naira to the country’s economy.

Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, UK Chapter, Dr Phillips Idaiwo stated this while speaking on telephone interview with Radio Nigeria on the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dr Idaiwo said apart from the monetary input to boost the economy, Nigerians in Diaspora had also brought their expertise to enhance the development of the country.

The APC chieftain noted that the recently established Nigerian Diaspora Commission would bring about an effective coordination of human capital and material resources for the betterment of Nigeria.

Dr Idaiwo described the election that produced the re-emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as a credible one that made people’s votes to be counted.

He explained that in the next four years, President Buhari’s administration would intensify more on the war against corruption, put in place effective transportation system and emphasise on social intervention programmes.
