Nigeria Prison Service, Ogun State Command has solicited the continued cooperation and assistance of well-meaning individuals towards the realization of prison reformation in the country.

The Ogun State Controller, Mr Abolade Benson made the call while receiving keys to the mosque project embarked upon by a nongovernmental organisation, Habiba Charity Foundation in Abeokuta.

Mr. Benson, who expressed the hope that the project would enable the inmates, especially the Muslims to move closer to God, commended the foundation for the gesture.

He noted that religion was one of the ways to refine the inmates pointing out that the construction of the mosque would go a long way towards prisons reformation.

The initiator of the project, Mr. Rasheed Sunmola had explained that the foundation was committed to the rehabilitation of inmates and other vulnerable groups towards making them become better individuals in the society.

Mr Sunmola, who expressed worry over the spate of crimes being perpetrated by the youths in the society through the modern technology, said the foundation would continue to play a key role to ensure the reduction to the bearest minimum.
