The Freedom of Information Bill, FOI, is essential, and will promote participatory governance.

Oyo State Governor-elect, Engineer Seyi Makinde stated this when the Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Alhaji Mohammed Bello led the station’s management to congratulate him on his electoral victory at the March 9 Governorship and House of Assembly polls.

Mr. Makinde, who observed that the Freedom of Information Bill, FOI, was important, said his administration will not only be transparent but will also be responsive to meaningful contributions from residents.

Engineer Makinde said that governance require the collaboration of all and sundry, said his administration would be ready to acknowledge mistakes and make amend, while being mindful of the fact that no man is infallible.

The governor-elect, who acknowledged the non-partisan support of Radio Nigeria Ibadan during campaigns, solicited the continuous cooperation of FRCN Ibadan for the incoming government.

In a remark, Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, commended Mr. Makinde for his courageous pursuit of his political aspiration, pointing out that Radio Nigeria Ibadan had been part of the election process in Oyo State following campaigns by political parties, organizing Governorship Debate, and monitoring of election results at INEC.

Alhaji Mohammed Bello while urging the governor-elect to bring to bear his years of experience in management on governance in Oyo State, admonished to make it cohesive by uniting residents.

The FRCN Ibadan Zonal Director added that the station would partner the incoming administration  in its quest to enhance the welfare of people in the state.
