Gateway United Football Club of Ogun came from a goal down to defeat Spartan Football Club of Lagos, two-one in pre-season friendly match played at the MKO International Stadium.

Demola Tobiloba got the first goal for the away team in the twenty-second minutes of the game before Yemi Jacobs levelled for the home team in the thirty-second minutes of the encounter.

Both teams displayed good artistry football in the second half of the friendly game before Sodiq Soneye got the winning goal for the Akeem Busari-led team in the eighty-eight minutes.

In a post match conference, Coach of Spartan FC, Olanrewaju Musbau said the game was to fine tune the team ahead of the 2018/2019 NNL season.

Coach Musbau however implored the league body to put measures in place to curb violence at match venues before the April third kick-off of the league.

On his part, Coach Akeem Busari of Gateway United FC urged the stakeholders to support the team in its quest for promotion to the elite division.

Coach Busari, who noted there was the need for the logistics to be improved upon, said all hands must be on the deck towards achieving the desire goals.
