The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has deployed materials for Saturday’s rescheduled election in Oriade Constituency of Osun State.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State, Mr. Segun Agbaje, told Radio Nigeria in an interview that the election would take place in five polling units with one thousand eight hundred voters who obtained their voter cards in a community near Ipetu-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government.

Mr. Agbaje explained that twenty ad-hoc staff that would be participating in the exercise had also moved to the RAC centre.

He said collation of results would take place at Ijebu-Ijesa, the headquarters of the council, while adequate security arrangement had been mobilised for the exercise.

Oriade State Constituency election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, as the cancelled votes in five polling units where election could not hold due to invasion by some suspected political thugs, were more than the gap between the leading candidate and the person with the second highest votes.

Result released so far indicates that All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Babatunde Desmond scored 11, 386 votes, while Pelumi Olajengbesi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled 9, 904.
