A group of female lawyers today staged a protest against incessant rape cases in Ondo State.

The group converged in the governor’s office, chanting solidarity songs.

The female lawyers also displayed placards with inscriptions as ‘pedophiles and predators must be punished’, ‘say no to rape’, ‘stop molesting our girls and take criminals off the streets’.

Addressing the news men, the Chairperson of the Legal Practitioners, Mrs. Bola Ogundadegbe advocated that rapists should henceforth, face castration or capital punishment.

Mrs. Ogundadegbe revealed that rape cases involving female children and teenagers across the state had been on the increase.

Another lawyer, Mrs. Bolanle Olafunmiloye also called for strict sexual offence law to reduce rape cases in the state.
