Central Council of Ibadan indigenes, CCII, has solicited the support of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, towards this year’s Ibadan Cultural Festival and Award Ceremony.

Chairman Planning Committee, of the event, Chief Nurudeen Akinade made this known when he led members of the committee on courtesy visit to FRCN Ibadan zonal station.

Chief Akinade noted that support of FRCN for the annual festival which comes up between 19th and 27th of this month is essential as the programme is aimed at showcasing the city’s cultural heritage.

He said the week-long festival would feature film show, debate, female football competition, visit to the Olubadan’s palace and would be climaxed with cultural festival at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

Reacting, Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Alhaji Muhammed Bello said Radio Nigeria remained committed to its mandate of information delivery as well as a medium of projecting the nation’s cultural heritage and values.

Alhaji Bello who appreciated the gesture of CCII, promised to support the event by giving it adequate and balance reportage.
