Students of the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, OSUSTECH, Okitipupa, on Monday disrupted academic and other administrative activities on the campus to protest against hike in the school fees.

To this end, the management of the University had shut the institution to restore peace and directed the students to vacate the campus immediately.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the students in large numbers staged a protest over the school fees payable in the institution.

The students mostly in their second year were angry over the management’s decision to retain the amount of fees they paid in their first year.

Speaking with newsmen on telephone, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Felix Akinnusi, who expressed displeasure over the protest by the students, disclosed that the Senate of the institution had taken a decision to close the school for two weeks.

Correspondent Leke Adegbite reports that last week Wednesday another Ondo state-owned tertiary institution, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, was also shut for issues centering on tuition.
