An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand 21-year-old man, Omosuyi Olorunfemi, in prison custody for alleged 545,000 thousand naira theft.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between July and December, 2018 at Opposite CAC Theological Seminary, Opa, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Mr. Osanyintuyi said the defendant stole the sum of N545, 000 through transfer from mobile Telephone property of one Mr & Mrs Abe Michael.

He added that the offence contravened sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The accused, who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to one-count charge of stealing.

The Magistrate, Mr. Olukunle Owolawi, did not grant the bail of the accused, but ordered for the remand of the defendant in Ile-Ife prison custody.

Mr. Owolawi adjourned the case till May 21, for hearing.
