Osun State House of Assembly says all vehicles bought by the state government for Chairmen and Leaders of the Parliamentarians belongs to the council.

The Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Wasiu Adebayo who stated this while speaking with newsmen after the presentation of midterm financial reports of the Local government, LCDAs and Area Councils before the House said all the vehicles must be dropped when user was leaving office.

Mr. Adebayo also explained that Administration Offices created from the Local Government have been changed to Area Councils as Administration Offices were not recognised in Nigeria’s constitution.

In their remarks, members of the Joint House Committee on Local and Chieftaincy Affairs and Public Account urged staff of the Local Government and Area Councils to intensify efforts towards increasing their Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, with a view to having financial capacity to fund the councils.

Also speaking, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Account, Mr. Rasheed Afolabi urged the Chairmen and Parliamentarians to have a cordial relationship for peace and stability in their various council.

Local government areas alongside other LCDAS and Area Councils from Obokun, Iwo, Odo-Otin, Olaoluwa and Isokan Local Governments appeared before the House to give midterm reports of their income and expenditures in the last six months.
