Nigerian Army has solicited the support of members of the public in intelligence sharing that could assist the military to tackle insecurity.

General Officer Commanding, GOC, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Major General Okwudili Azinta stated this at the closing ceremony of the 5-day Inter-Brigade Competition for officers and men of the division.

Major General Azinta, who was represented by 2 Division Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Koko Isoni said security issues was everybody’s responsibility for a collective fight against criminal activities and other security challenges.

He noted that the military has intensified its efforts at ensuring a crime free society.

General Azinta, therefore congratulated the officers that participated in the competition and urged them to always reflect the core values of excellence expected of the army.

The 5-day competition involved drills, map reading, weapon handling, obstacle crossing and combat swimming.

The participants were drawn from 4 Brigade Benin, 32 Artillery Brigade Akure, 22 Armour Brigade Ilorin, 42 Engineer Brigade Ibadan and 2 Division Garrison, Ibadan.
