Over five hundred people in Ibadan have benefited from the free medical outreach of the military to Mark 2019 Nigerian Army Day, NADEL celebration.

The programme which was held at Olubadan Palace, Oja’ba, Ibadan featured free eye care, laboratory test, voluntary HIV/AIDS counseling, pediatrics, breast cancer, dental and general medical care.

Some of the beneficiaries, who were elated, said the gesture of the Nigerian Army would enhance healthy living.

The beneficiaries therefore called on other relevant agencies to extend free medical services to indigent ones as such would address the health challenges of the people.

The Acting Commander, 2 Division Medical Services and Hospital, Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Ayeni said, the outreach was part of the Nigerian Army’s social responsibilities aimed at ensuring that people are safe and in good health.

Lieutenant Colonel Ayeni called on other security agencies to emulate Army in supporting the Federal Government’s agenda of healthy living for Nigerians.

The 2019 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, which commenced on Saturday, had featured environmental sanitation, inter-denominational service, medical and educational outreach and will end on Friday with Jumat Service.
