The result of the final examination conducted for the first set of Medical students of the Ekiti State University College of Medicine has been released.

According to the Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of EKSU, Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, all the 43 students who sat for the examination passed and one of them had distinction.

Reacting to the performance of the Medical students, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Olubunmi Ajayi expressed joy and congratulated the first set of Medical Doctors to be produced by the University.

She also expressed appreciation to the  Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi,  the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Bamitale Omole, the College team, led by the Provost, Professor Kehinde Oluwadiya and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring that the College of Medicine was accredited.

The first set of Medical students of Ekiti State University college of Medicine has spent 10 years on the programme due to delayed accreditation.

However, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria recently gave a five year approval for the accreditation of the medical programme.

With this development, the Medical students are to be fully inducted into the medical profession in a few days.
