Security has been beefed up in the Kaduna State capital and environs ahead of proceedings at the Kaduna State High Court.

This comes ahead of a ruling on the bail application filed by the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

Justice Darius Khobo will rule on the application filed by the Shiites’ leader who is seeking permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.

There is also tight security at the entrance and exit points of the court complex.

The bail hearing which will take place on Monday, three days after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the Federal Government the power to proscribe the group.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and El-Zakzaky’s lawyer, Femi Falana, condemned the government’s action, describing it as illegal.
