Students of Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti protesting the alleged harassment and unlawful arrest of their colleagues by the Police and EFCC have been dispersed by the Police with teargas.
The students who barricaded the highway in front of their school and made burn fires, alleged that many of their colleagues have been apprehended by the Police and EFCC without giving any reason.
The action of the students brought hardship to many motorists and commuters as they stranded for hours.
Staff members of the University were prevented from gaining entry into the campus.
A Policeman who pleaded anonymity confirmed that some of the students known as Yahoo boys were arrested within the campus.
Normalcy has since returned to the university community.
Efforts to get the reaction of the spokesperson for Ekiti state Police Command, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu proved abortive as his mobile phone was switched off.
