Governor Oluwarotimi Akerdolu of Ondo State has commended the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, for ensuring proper grooming and monitoring of corps members during the orientation exercise as well as preparing them for the tasks ahead.

Mr Akeredolu, in his address at the Terminal Parade of Batch ‘B’ (STREAM II) orientation course on Monday in Ikare Akoko, said the NYSC had instilled patriotism, integrity, hard work and unity amongst corps members during the orientation exercise.

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr Dotun Owanikin, stressed the importance of the three weeks orientation course to the nation’s unity.

He said the orientation was primarily meant to equip corps members with the operations of the scheme.

Governor Akeredolu however enjoined the corps members to cultivate a healthy relationship with their host communities, stressing the need to integrate and appreciate the culture and traditions of the people.
