Ogun state NYSC has commenced construction of its Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, Village at the Orientation camp in Sagamu.

The state coordinator of the scheme, Dr. Belinda Faniyi who made this known at the closing ceremony of the Orientation camping for the 2019 Batch B Stream Two Corps members, said the village when completed would help the corps members acquire and develop skills that will add value the country.

The Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development village of the Ogun state NYSC, for the in camp training is situated on two hectares of land at Sagamu.

When completed, the SAED village will be equipped with fish ponds, plantain and vegetable plantations and the SAED centre for the twelve skills sets training currently available with the scheme.

Dr. Faniyi explained that the village would also be useful to the other host communities around Sagamu and also make the youths to be self-reliant after the service years.

The Ogun state NYSC coordinator who also pleaded with the state government to restore the payment of monthly allowance to corps members serving with the ministries and agencies urged the corps members to continue to be good ambassadors of the scheme.

Ogun State Police Command, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bashir Makama in a remark also advised the corps members to be security-conscious during the service year noting that they should take their personal safety very important.

Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun represented by the permanent Secretary at the state ministry of Sports and Youths, Mr. Peter Fagboun while declaring the orientation camping close, urged the corps members to take their various postings in good faith and also advised their employers not to reject those posted to their establishments.

About one thousand eight hundred, 1,800, 2019 batch B Stream Two Corps members were deployed to all the twenty local government areas of Ogun state.
