The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Southwest Zone has expressed its resolve to support the Party to appeal against the tribunal judgment which nullified the petition of the party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

This is contained in a communiqué read by PDP National Vice Chairman Southwest, Dr Eddy Olafeso at the stakeholders meeting of the PDP, Southwest  held at the Government House, Ibadan.

The party expresses disappointment that justice is not done on the petition in view of the evidence laid before the tribunal.

It equally lauds governor Seyi Makinde-led government in Oyo State for the giant strides taken in the last hundred days.

On the incident at Federal University of Oye Ekiti, the party wants the Nigeria Police to fish out those responsible for the death of  the two students who died while protesting against power outage in the institution.

In their separate remarks, former governorship candidate of PDP, Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje and a lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa at the House of Representatives, Mr Taiwo Olayemi, said the PDP was united for future challenges.

Earlier, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde had stressed the need for unity among  the PDP family in the Southwest and Nigeria for the party to come out stronger for challenges ahead of elections in the Southwest region.

Governor Makinde therefore appealed to the party leaders in the region to be patient with his administration on appointments, noting that there is no way everyone can be appointed at the same time.
