Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa says ongoing construction of the ultramodern secretariat complex in Asaba, which is intended to accommodate all ministries, departments and agencies still under rented apartments, was near completion.

Governor Okowa stated at the 2019 Quarterly Media Interaction with journalists in the state.

Dr. Okowa decried the situation of low enrollment in the state colleges of education while suggesting an imminent education summit in the state to address the situation.

The governor however listed improvements in the higher education sector to include the accreditation of new courses at the Oleh and Abraka campuses of Delta State University and the building of infrastructure in both schools.

He added that nine out of the proposed nineteen new technical colleges to be built in the state have been incorporated in the 2020 budget to enable more youth to have access to technical and vocational skills.
