Women should to take front position in ensuring development of their state and country.
Wife of the Vice-President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo stated this while declaring open the 2019 National Women’s Conference in Osogbo, Osun State.
Mrs. Osinbajo said women should not allow themselves to be relegated to the back in the development of the nation.
She also urged women to work together, encourage and support each other in order to attain key political positions.
In his remark, Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola pointed out that political participation was a weapon for women to effect desired change in the Country.
Governor Oyetola, who described women as great managers, noted that when the managerial skill of women is garnered to rouse society to action, it would enhance the nation’s sustainable development.
Earlier, the wife of the Governor and Chairperson, Osun Women Development Association, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola had explained that the association was established to empower women economically and as a rallying platform for women in politics.
Our Correspondent, Funmi Adekoya reports that the 3-day conference had in attendance wives of South West governors and other government functionaries.
The theme for the 2019 National Women’s Conference is “Woman: Pioneer of Change for Inclusive Participation in Development”.
