An Eleven-man committee on Enrollment Drive Campaign to facilitate enrollment, retention and completion of basic education in Oyo state has been inaugurated.

The committee comprises of the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, South West Co-ordinator, UBEC State Co-ordinator, a representative of Ministry of Education Science and Technology, three members of management team of Oyo SUBEB, a representative of Christian faith, a representative of Islamic faith and a representative of School Based Management Committee.

Addressing members of the newly inaugurated committee, Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran charged the members to be up and doing in ensuring the administration’s goal of “Better Education Service Delivery for All in Oyo State”.

He maintained that through the committee, government would embark on an intensive mobilization drive of policy makers, parents, community leaders and other stakeholders.

While explaining that setting up of the committee was in tandem with the directives of Federal Government, UBEC and United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, on the implementation on free basic education in the country, Dr. Adeniran, expressed confidence that the Enrollment Drive Committee would mobilize all stakeholders in returning out of school children back to school.
