Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has described as civic, the conduct of the electorate so far at the polls.

The governor stated this in an interview with newsmen, shortly after casting his votes at Unit 20, Ward 11, Community Grammar School, Ibadan South West Local Government.

Governor Ajimobi said his polling unit had always been peaceful, stating that he was happy with the reports from across the state so far.

The governor also expressed confidence in the independent national electoral commission for a credible election.

Cooperation and understanding of residents of Ogbomoso have been identified as factors responsible for peaceful conduct of today’s election in the town.

Onpetu of Ijeruland in Ogbomoso South Local Government, Oba Sunday Oladapo stated this while commenting on the ongoing Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Oba Oladapo said contrary to expectations of many political analysts that the town would be a battle ground, Ogbomoso and its environs had witnessed peaceful election.

The monarch said there was a low turnout but  he was optimistic that more voters would come out to exercise their franchise.

As at the time our correspondents were leaving Ogbomoso, voting had been completed at most polling units.
