The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle-Aromolaran wants the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, to embrace peaceful resolution of the impasse between his people and the company .

Oba Adekunle-Aromolaran made the call when the technical team of the IBEDC and representatives of Ijesa clubs and societies as well as communities paid him a visit after assessment tour of the vandalized facilities of the company.

The Paramount ruler joined voice with community leaders including Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Prince Francis Fadahunsi, Mr Lawrence Ayeni, Mr Timothy Owoeye and Mr folarin fafowora to urge the distribution company to restore electricity to the areas where the damage was pronounced.

Leader of the technical team from the company’s headquarters, Captain Gbenga Ajagbe assured the people in attendance that the company would do everything within its power to restore electricity to the area as the company was not comfortable keeping the land in darkness.

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mrs Abiodun Ige and AIG Zone 11, who led security personnel during the facility tour of the district business hub and other four outlets in Ilesa assured the staff of the IBEDC of safety, pleading with the residents to be law abiding.

Meanwhile, electricity has been restored to some areas as at the time of filing this report.
