Mr Adetona Aderoboye has emerged the new chairman of Ondo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Mr Aderoboye of the local government chapel polled one hundred and fifteen votes to beat his rival Mr Tony Adetoye of the State Information Chapel who had sixteen votes.

Hakeem Gbadamosi of correspondents’ chapel and Leke Adegbite of Radio Nigeria Positive FM Chapel were returned un-posed as Vice chairman and general secretary of the union.

Adeola Adekunle of Adaba FM Chapel also emerged the financial secretary with one hundred and sixteen votes beating his rival, Dare Ajiboye of the Information Chapel polled sixteen votes.

Members of union in Ondo State elected the new officers at the election held at the NUJ press centre Alagbaka Akure under the supervision of the National executives of the union led by the Vice President, B-zone , Mr Cosmos Oni and Senior Assistant National Secretary Bamidele Gbemiga.

The new executives later took oath of office in the presence of all members who participated in the election as administered by a lawyer, Tolulope Aguda.

In his acceptance speech the new Chapman, Mr Aderoboye promised to move the union to the next level and give priority to welfare of members.
