The incoming governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde says that all infrastructure in the state will be directly linked to the economy in order to impact on the lives of the masses.

In a statement by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Engineer Makinde said that one of his cardinal programmes would be poverty reduction through agricultural value chain.

He was delivering the Key note address at a Workshop on Human Resource Management of Rural Farmers in Nigeria, organized by the Liverpool Business School and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA, Ibadan.

Engineer Makinde described as paying lip service to agricultural development if roads in the cities glitter while the roads leading to the food baskets zones are neglected.

The Oyo governor-elect will take rein of power from the current governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on May 29 this year when he will be formally inaugurated.

Mr. Seyi Makinde was elected into the Office of the Governor of Oyo State at the 2019 gubernatorial elections which held on March 9th, 2019
