Needs for youth in political offices to be good ambassador was the focus at the second Oyo State Youth Summit organized by the state chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria.

Speakers at the summit were of the view that if the current set of youths in power performed well, Nigerians would be encouraged to trust more youths with power.

Spiritual founder of Shafaudeen in Islam, Professor Sabit Olagoke urged youths in power to be true agent of positive change.

Professor Olagoke advised them to be up to the task to prove that they were not too young to rule.

Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Mr. Mutiu Agboke counsel those youths in power to see the position as opportunity which he said they could not afford to misuse.

He also charged other youths to always contribute to the national issues discourse to make them relevant.

Executive secretary Oyo State Agency for Youths Development, Alhaja Airat Adegbola called on the youths to promote dignity and shun all forms of social vices.

Chairman, Oyo State Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mrs Adebobola Agbeja, expressed optimism that 9th Assembly of Oyo State House of Assembly would show that youths are capable to rule.

The event featured award presentation to some dignitaries including Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly Honourable Debo Ogundoyin, Resident Electoral Commission in Oyo State, Mr. Mutiu Agboke as fellow of peace and the of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Olufunke Makinde as personality of the year.
