Senator Adenigba Fadahhunsi representing Osun East senatorial district has called for proactive approach to fighting banditry and kidnapping in Southwest.
Senator Fadahunsi stated this in a chat with Gold FM in Ilesa.
The senator berated the recent killing of innocent people by armed bandits on interstate roads in the state, especially the one involving a local government staff on Gbongan- Ikire road.
Commiserating with the bereaved families, senator Fadahunsi said collaboration between the security agencies as well as community vigilante groups would annihilate the bandits operating under the guise of herdsmen.
While cautioning political leaders against politicizing the disturbing trend of crime in the south west geopolitical zone, the lawmaker, advised residents to provide the police with useful information about suspicious persons in their environment.
