Osun Speaker Tasks Media on Quality Information Dissemination

The role of the media in promoting good governance in the country cannot be over emphasized.

The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Timothy Owoeye stated this while addressing the management of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation who paid him a courtesy visit in Osogbo.

Mr. Owoeye noted that information as the heartbeat of democracy must be well disseminated to enlighten the public on importance of democracy and good governance.

He urged the media to eschew disseminating inciting stories that could cause chaos within and outside Osun and Nigeria.

Earlier, the Director General, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC, Mrs. Adejumoke Akinjiola had assured that the station would give quality coverage and reportage of the Assembly activities to people of their constituencies.

Mrs. Akinjiola added that OSBC would continue to promote and project developmental projects of the state government.
