The World Bank has commenced the payment of disturbance allowance to those affected by the ongoing water projects in Ekiti State.

The Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Mrs Mary Oso-Omotosho who made this known to newsmen in Ado Ekiti said, the project was being handled by the World Bank.

Mrs Oso-Omotosho explained that those in the first batch had been compensated while it would soon be the turn of the people in the second batch.

According to her, the disturbance allowance were paid to landlords, landladies, traders, whose structures, fences and shops were affected by the ongoing laying of pipes for the water projects.

The governor’s media aide maintained that local contractors were being used for the project as part of efforts to create job in the state.

Mrs Mary Osho- Omotosho stated that people of the state would start enjoying potable water very soon, with an appeal to them to continue to support the present administration in Ekiti.
