The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Timothy Owoeye has appealed to the people of Owu community in Ogun state to stop encroaching on the land belonging to Orile-Owu in Ayedaade Local Government Area of state.

Mr. Owoeye made the call while receiving a delegation from Orile-Owu community who came to his office to register their plea over the incessant land encroachment.

Speaking on the development which he described as unfortunate, the Speaker assured them that necessary action aimed at addressing the unlawful encroachment of the land would be made.

The Speaker, who commended the peaceful approach of the leaders and natives of Orile-Owu community for not taking laws into their hands, urged the people to continue to maintain law and order.

In his remark, the lawmaker representing Ayedaade State Constituency, Mr. Taiwo Olodo pledged the readiness of the house under the watch of the speaker in taking drastic steps that would put an end to the unlawful encroachment.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Orile-Owu delegation, Mr. Hakeem called for urgent intervention of the state parliament to settle the issue before degenerating to disputes.
