Ekiti State Government has banned the use of public school fields for any engagement or ceremony during the week.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Foluso Daramola announced this to newsmen in Ado Ekiti.

Mr. Daramola said the ban became imperative to allow teaching and learning to run smoothly in the school environment during the school hours.

The commissioner however stated that henceforth, public school fields across the state could only be used for social engagements, on Saturdays and Sundays, saying that erection of canopies on any of the public school fields should be done after closing hours of Friday.

He noted that whoever that violated the directive would be sanctioned accordingly.
