The Ekiti State Police Command has warned against any unlawful assembly and celebration by various cult groups in the state.

This followed report that cult groups like, Eiye Confraternity, Aiye Confraternity and Buccaneers were allegedly planning to celebrate their days between July 7 and 8.

The command in a statement by its spokesperson, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu appealed to students of tertiary institutions in Ekiti not to allow anybody to lure them into any unlawful association or group.

He advised parents to monitor the movements of their children, as anyone caught disrupting the existing peace in the state would be arrested and severely dealt with.

According to Mr. Ikechukwu, members of Aiye Confraternity will appear in black berets with axe inscription while Buccaneer also known as “Alora” will also appear in yellow beret with ship and anchor sign.

Similarly, members of Eiye Confraternity will appear in Blue beret and yellow socks.

Mr. Ikechukwu therefore implored the public to provide the Police with useful and adequate information at any time when such place for unlawful gathering is sighted.
