The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology , Amendment Bill, 2019.

The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun had transmitted the bill to the legislative arm about two weeks ago, and it was subsequently referred to the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology for deliberations.

Before the passage of the bill, Chairman of the Committee, Mr Adeyemi Ademuyiwa had presented the Committee’s report which was adopted through a voice vote at a session presided over by the Speaker, Mr Olakunle Oluomo.

Mr Oluomo later directed that the clean copy of the bill should be forwarded to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his assent.

The amendment partly seeks to revalidate MAPOLY law to ensure the return of smooth academic activities at the institution, with all property of the institution hitherto transferred  to MAUSTECH  now returned to MAPOLY.

Meanwhile, the House has renewed its call on the suspended chairmen of all local government councils and local council development areas to appear before the Assembly as scheduled.

The council chairmen from the three senatorial districts in the state had earlier been advised to appear before the lawmakers on Monday 5th August 2019 to shed light on their administration of the council areas.
