Ogun State Government has officially launched its jobs portal as twenty unemployed youths got automatic employment by the state government

At the event held at the Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, the state capital, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo  Abiodun reiterated the commitment of his administration to initiating policies and programme to ensure youths realize their innate and God-given talents for the development of the state.

The portal, according to the governor, would register on a continuous basis unemployed youths in the state with a view to providing them jobs and training opportunities suitable for their trade and academic qualifications, uplift skills where necessary and expand jobs.

In a remark at the event, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo emphasized the need for self development by the youths, asking them to take advantage in agriculture and manufacturing sector of the nation’s economy.

The vice president, while giving his charge to the youths, challenged them on self development.

He urged the youths to explore opportunities  in agriculture and technology promising that funds are available through the Bank of Industry to grow their businesses. 

After an online quiz competition involving the youths present at the occasion, twenty successful unemployed youths were offered employment by the state.

 Some of them thanked the government for pulling them out of the labour market. 

According to statistics, about twenty seven point eight percent of ogun youths population are unemployed.

The event was attended by the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, members of the state and national assemblies, traditional rulers among other dignitaries.
