The producer of an emerging popular radio serial drama, Jolokoto from the stable of the Population Media Center, Abuja, Mr. James Sheshi says the programme is geared towards addressing gender based issues and environmental protection.

He stated this during a citywide motorcade rally in Ibadan which took off from Town Planning/Mobil to Challenge, Molete, Oja’ba, Beere, Oje, Agodi-Gate, Bodija, Sanngo, Mokola Roundabout through Dugbe markets and parks.

Mr. Sheshi noted that the drama series were designed to inculcate positive attitudes to ensure happier life.

The Producer of Jolokoto expressed delight at the warm reception and wide acceptability the drama had received among the populace.

Mr. Sheshi promised that the sponsor of the radio serial drama still have many life changing programmes to unveil in near future for the betterment of society.

In a remark, the Deputy Resident Representative, Population Media Center Nigeria, Mrs Joan Jeremiah explained that the Ibadan city road-show was to increase awareness about Jolokoto among people at the grassroots.

Mrs Jeremiah urged people to avail themselves of abundant advantages in listening to Jolokoto.

Some of the winners of questions on previous episodes of Jolokoto: Mr. Akande Ayobami, Komolafe Adesina and Abibat Abiola, who received transistor radio sets, Jolokoto customized shirts and caps and other souvenirs described the programme as educative and entertaining drama, urging the sponsor to sustain the feat.

Some commercial motorcyclists and market women, who were beneficiaries of Jolokoto souvenirs during the road-show: Buba Jauro, Sunday Ojo, Mrs Adejumo Saidi and Mrs Aminat Jimoh promised to always listen to Jolokoto on designated radio stations and inform others to follow suit.

Our correspondent Sherifdeen Nashirdeen reports that the Jolokoto team distributed flyers, stickers, T-shirts, caps, transistor radio sets to people along major roads, motor parks and markets visited during the tour.
