Residents of Irete community in Odogbolu Local Government area of Ogun State have described the decision of the current administration to re-open Tai Solarin College of Education as a welcome development.

Speaking with newsmen after the visit to the institution, the Chairman, Irete Community Development Association, Chief Olumide Adesanya, who said the closure of the school had affected socio-economic life of the people in the community, also pointed out that the effect had led to the massive migration of youths from the community to other viable locations nearby.

Chief Adesanya lauded the efforts of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun in ensuring the resumption of Tai Solarin College of Education and commencement of year 2019 academic session.

Also, a retired Permanent Secretary, Mr Leke Adenuga noted that the state’s tertiary education system had suffered a great blow, especially in the area of economic and human capital development since the closure of the institution.

In his words, Architect Adenuga specially thanked the governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his ingenuity. He commended the committee constituted to examine the state of affairs at TASCE for a job well done.

Other residents who spoke with journalist however appeared for urgent rehabilitation of some bad portions of the road, especially now that the school had been re opened.
