The lingering unrest between Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Saliu Adetunji and the high chiefs appears to have been resolved as the high chiefs unexpectedly stormed the palace of Olubadan to rejoice with the monarch on his ninety -first birthday.

The chiefs unexpectedly showed up around one o’clock in the afternoon to congratulate the monarch and place a demand before him to enable peace to reign, according to the spokesperson to Olubadan, Mr Adeola Oloko.

Mr Oloko added that the Olubadan however gave a nod to the demands, a gesture that signaled a cease fire.

One of the high chiefs, who is the Otun Olubadan, Lekan Balogun gave assurance that henceforth there would be cordial relationships within the Olubadan in Council.

President General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Chief Yemi Soladoye  expressed gladness that the meeting was a signal of peace in Ibadan and Oyo State.

Chief Soladoye said CCII was happy to be a part of the epoch making event.

The CCII president general, who commended the present administration in the state on its efforts at restoring peace, said few grey arrears would be attended to in another thirty days.

The crises started when the immediate past administration crowned the high chiefs and Baales to become full fledged monarchs, a situation which did not go well with the Olubadan of Ibadanland Obama Saliu Adetunji.

The problem degenerated into litigation, which is still pending in a court of law.
