Federal University of Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, is to commence awarding degrees in Pharmacy and Law.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kayode Soremekun stated this at a news conference held in the campus to herald the second combined convocation ceremony held in Oye Ekiti.

Professor Soremekun explained that the National Universities Commission NUC had already approved law faculty but FUOYE was still waiting for the Council for Legal Evaluations approval.

While commenting on some of the Academic successes recorded so far, Professor Soremekun noted that 35 students made first class, 366 second Class upper, 472 got second Class Lower while 119 scored third class between 2016 and 2017 academic sessions.

The FUOYE Vice Chancellor said academic excellence had always been the hallmark of the university, adding that about forty projects have been completed to ensure conducive learning environment.

Professor Soremekun commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND and Ekiti State government for their hands of fellowship in ensuring meaningful progress in FUOYE.
