The management of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE has announced immediate and indefinite closure of the institution.

This followed violent protest carried out by the students over poor power supply.

A statement by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Kayode Soremekun said the closure was to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

He also announced the disbanded of the students union of the institution indefinitely.

The Vice Chancellor ordered the students to vacate the university premises latest by ten O’ clock in the morning and further developments will be communicated to them in due course.
