Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Shina Olukolu, has called on the public to always be security conscious in order not to fall victims of criminals.

Mr Olukolu stated this while parading three suspected rapists and murderers alongside alleged fraudsters, who were fond of knocking on people’s doors for various reasons.

Mr Olukolu noted that the 20 year old kingpin of the alleged murderer gang, Gholahan Ismail raped and killed a 35year old Toyin Olubowale at Akobo area of Ibadan when he gained entrance into her house.

The suspect, Gbolahan said he had initially wooed the victim, which she turned down but he later went to her house to rape her and subsequently smashed a wooden stool on her head which led to her death.

The suspect met his waterloo when an okada rider he chartered to the place was suspicious of the wound sustained by Gbolahan on his hand as well as blood stains and raised alarm.

The three suspected fraudsters who were also paraded said one of them normally pretended to be a pastor and prophesized to their unsuspecting victims and later duped them of their belongings.

Mr Olukolu, who commended members of the public for their unwavering support, pleaded for continuous support, and promised never to let them down.

The Oyo CP warned criminally minded people, who believed that the state could be a safe haven for their nefarious acts, to have a rethink or face the wrath of the law.
