Markets have been experiencing low patronage as primary and secondary schools in Oyo state will resume for 2019/2020 academic session on Monday.

One of the traders, who spoke with Radio Nigeria said, though buyers have been trooping in but sales have been low, and were optimistic that, by the first week of resumption, sales would improve.

Radio Nigeria visited Gbagi, Mokola, Dugbe and Aleshinloye markets in Ibadan were few buyers were seen at book shops.

Two of the parents, Mrs. Olamide Ahmed and Mrs. Bunmi Adebayo said they were only able to purchase few school materials because of the poor state of the economy.

Primary and secondary schools in Ibadan went on long holiday on the 26th of July, and the new academic session 2019/2020 will begin on Monday, 16th of September.
