Osogbo lying along Osun River is the Osun State capital that shares boundary with Ikirun, Ede, Awo and Iragbiji.

The commercial town, which is easily accessible from any part of the state because of its cultural and central nature for the Yoruba ethnic group, has a regional railway terminus for agricultural produce and passengers.
