Before now, when skilled workers move from one country to another, it was termed brain drain to the country of departure and it is a brain gain to the country of destination.
A new term of ‘Brain waste’ has emerged, since it is a situation whereby such professionals are wasting away due to their engagement in menial jobs rather than their professional callings.
In this report, Afolasade Osigwe examines the causes of brain waste among able- bodied and skilled Nigerian youths who travelled abroad for means of livelihood, without minding the quality of jobs available to them.
