Sign Language should be included in School Curriculum – Activist

The association for deaf including its teachers and interpreters have called on governments at all level to include learning of sign languages in school curricular.

A disability activist, Mr. Ayoade. Elegbede who spoke during a lecture to commemorate the day in Ogun state said the step would bridge communication gap, eradicate stigmatization and promote peaceful coexistence.

Our correspondent Oluwatoyin Adegoke was at St Peter’s College, Olomore, Abeokuta, venue of the event which was put together by Ogun State Association of Deaf, in collaboration with the Ogun State Association of Deaf Interpreters and Deaf Teachers.
