The World Bank has picked Ekiti as the Best Performing State under the National Urban Water Sector Reform Project and third Best Performing State under the Community and Social Development Project.

The World Bank’s Country Director for Nigeria and Africa Region, Mr. Rachid Banmessaoud made this known in a congratulatory letter sent to the Ekiti State Government.

He explained that the recognition was part of the Nigeria portfolio performance Awards for 2019.

According to Mr. Banmessaoud, the award recognised the performance of project implementation teams across the states and federal institutions.

He congratulated Governor Kayode Fayemi for the state’s commendable performance which led to winning the award.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Governor Dr  Kayode Fayemi says that his administration will continue to collaborate with development agencies and relevant institutions to ensure all round developments of the state.

The governor, who spoke at a meeting on the sideline of the United Nation’s General Assembly in New York, identified increase in social investments, rural and agricultural development as well as infrastructure and industrial development as some of the areas of focus in his administration.
