The Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE has concluded plans to commence Distance Learning degree and postgraduate Programmes in all courses of study in the university.

To achieve the lofty programme, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kayode Soremekun led management of the institution to sign a memorandum of understanding with consultant on Distance Learning Education led by Former Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Professor Olugbemiro Jegede in Oye Ekiti.

Professor Soremekun explained that the objectives of the programme was to allow easy access to learning and build a virile society.

He said FUOYE had partnered lCT University of Southern, University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA  which had offered to provide E- Class room and E- library .

Professor Soremekun who noted that FUOYE was set to give admission to all interested students, urged parents and guardians to key into the programme.

In a remark, the Leader of the Distance Learning Institute and Former Vice Chancellor National Open University, NOUN, Professor Olugbemmiro Jegede gave assurance of academic excellence in line with FUOYE’s set objectives, missions and vision.

Some of the management staff of the university, who attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina, emphasized that the Distance Learning Programme would add value to the institution and society at large.
