Oyo state government has promised to carry out a need assessment exercise and proper profiling for each of the returnees from South Africa who are Oyo state indigenes with a view to properly resettling them.

The Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan disclosed this while receiving thirty two Oyo state indigenes and 2 children returnees from South Africa at the State Secretariat, Ibadan.

Engineer Olaniyan equally pointed out that the current administration being a welfarist government would give each of the returnees the sum of thirty thousand naira to assist them in the course of settling down.

The chairman and CEO, Nigeria Disapora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa represented by her Director of Media, Abdulramon Balogun said the federal government remained committed to welfare of Nigerians irrespective of where they were across the world.

Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa noted that government would now embark on re-orientation, reintegration and empowerment of the returnees.

Executive secretary, Oyo State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Lukman Arasi expressed readiness of Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration of adequate resettlement and assist them with jobs.
