Reactions have continued to trail the death of a senator of the fourth republic, Chief Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa on the platform of Alliance for Democracy, who died yesterday at the age of 87 years.

Some residents of Osun State, including his political associates described his death as the end of a political era.

A former  member representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in  the House of Representatives, Mr Gbenga Onigbogi  said Senator Akinfenwa was a minority leader, who always put interest of his constituents above personal interest.

Mr Onigbogi noted that it will take a while to fill the vacuum his demise had created in the south west political scene.

Going on the memory lane, the former Director General of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Wale Idowu described him as a man of many roles, especially, as a commissioner during the old Western region.

Mr Idowu noted that as a sport administrator, the deceased contributed immensely to the development of sports in Ijesaland.

Other people who spoke with Radio Nigeria eulogized Senator Akinfenwa for his resilience as a true progressive worthy of immortalization.

It will be recalled that Senator Akinfenwa was a member of the Senate Committees on Selection, Senate Services, Solid Minerals, Banking & Currency and Education in 1999
