Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has condemned wastage of public funds on white elephant projects by successive governments without people deriving value for the money.
He stated this in an interview with newsmen after an inspection tour of Old Urban Mass Transit Park, Sanyo, Jericho Specialist Hospital, and the new Maternal and Pediatrics Center along Jericho in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The governor described a situation when citizens could not get value for their taxes as deceit.
Governor Makinde who noted that his administration would move some departments from Jericho Specialist Hospital to Maternal and pediatrics Center, Ibadan before the end of the year maintained that the issue would be treated with urgency.
Governor Makinde equally directed Chairman of Oyo State Road Traffic Maintenance Agency OYRTMA, to convert Old Oyo state Mass Transit Park to OYRTMA’s headquarter.
He promised to put necessary facilities in place to make the place conducive.
